Johnny Cash - American IV: The Man Comes Around [Audio CD]

Johnny Cash's 'American IV: The Man Comes Around' stands as one of the most poignant and introspective albums of his legendary career. Released when Cash was 70 years old, this deeply autobiographical work reflects on life, mortality, love, and redemption through a blend of original compositions and carefully chosen covers. Produced by Rick Rubin, the album features sparse arrangements that highlight Cash's weathered baritone-bass voice, imbuing each song with unflinching honesty and emotional depth. From the apocalyptic imagery of the title track to powerful reinterpretations of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt", Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus", and The Beatles' "In My Life", this album resonates with quiet power and pathos. Featured guest appearances include Fiona Apple on "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and Nick Cave on "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry", adding further dimension to this haunting musical testament.
