Blue Earth Sound - Cicero Nights [Vinyl]

Cicero Nights is the debut project from multi-instrumentalist, bandleader and composer James Weir under the name Blue Earth Sound. This standard-colour vinyl repress features eight instrumentals blending jazz-leaning experimentation with organic, cinematic sounds.

Drawing on his Minnesota roots and adopted Chicago home, Weir creates music that moves between the glow of late-night city scenes and the calm of sunlit daytime strolls. The album’s thoughtful ebb and flow brings together soulful, meditative and experimental influences.

On “Half & Half”, summery horns meet buoyant bass lines, while “On The Court” pairs a boom-bap beat with Wurlitzer and smoky wah-pedal guitar.
