The Anchoress - As We Once Were [CD]

As We Once Were is the highly anticipated third studio album from The Anchoress (Catherine Anne Davies), an artist twice nominated for the Welsh Music Prize. This release follows the critically acclaimed UK Top 40 album, The Art Of Losing (2021), and serves as an epic 14-track exploration of time and transformation.

• Third studio album from The Anchoress (Catherine Anne Davies).
• Follow-up to the UK Top 40 album The Art Of Losing.
• Features 14 tracks exploring the nature of time and transformation.
• Created using Pete Townshend's collection of vintage analogue synthesisers at Black Lodge Studios.
• Released via independent label Last Night From Glasgow.

Davies crafted this album against the backdrop of significant life events, including the birth of her first child, multiple personal losses, and the discovery of her grandmother's voice on an old cassette tape. The record delves into profound questions: 'What can we build out of the past? Are we destined to be held down by it? Can we ever return to these past versions of ourselves?'
