Solomon's Knot - J. S. Bach: Köthener Trauermusik [CD]

Solomon’s Knot performs a reconstruction of Bach’s Köthener Trauermusik, a work for which no original notes survive. This CD is for listeners interested in Bach and historically informed performances of Baroque music.

Reconstructed by Chad Kelly from sources including Bach’s first version of the Matthäus-Passion, the work was commissioned for performance and this live recording. Kelly’s reconstruction brings the text and the occasion for which the music was written into focus.

Recorded at the Dreieinigkeitskirche during the Tage Alter Musik Regensburg festival, the performance features the Baroque music collective Solomon’s Knot.
