Nick Mitchell Maiato - Náquera [Vinyl]

Náquera is an album by Nick Mitchell Maiato, made for listeners drawn to country rock, cosmic Americana and guitar-led jams. Its sound brings together big choruses, deep grooves and a funky horn section.

Named after the Spanish pueblo where Mitchell Maiato lives, the album puts his songwriting, vocals and guitar playing at the centre of rolling rockers and multi-part jams. The songs range from the Americana ballad “Riki Rachtman” to the soaring “Critical Mass” and the country-funk groove of “The Angle”.

“Flamebait” adds a three-part horn section and a sun-scorched guitar solo, while “Critical Mass” features an opening organ part by Bob Bralove and bass by Otto Wilberg.
